Train For Life

Pilates Training

Pilates consists of 500 systematic mat and equipment-based exercises. Programs can be designed at the beginner, intermediate and advanced levels with modifications to address special circumstances. The Pilates repertoire builds on the principles of the late Joseph H. Pilates. Pilates programming is designed to provide the body with optimal musculoskeletal performance including strength, flexibility and endurance. The focus of each workout is to restore the natural curves of the spine by improving core strength, joint stability and range-of-motion resulting in a balanced body. Pilates Training is offered in three types of modules and can be done one-on-one or in duet sessions:

• Pilates Mat Sessions
• Pilates Reformer Sessions
• Pilates Pairs (combining both the Mat and Reformer Repertoire)

* The location of Pilates training is flexible and based on the client's needs and personal requests.  Typical sessions may be done in-home, in your building's gym, outdoors (weather permitting), at your local membership gym (pending gym restrictions), or at other various gyms or facilities throughout Manhattan offering space rental. Unless using your personal at home reformer, Pilates sessions that include the reformer are only offered at limited locations where reformers are accessible.

Postural Analysis and Functional Movement Screening
The analysis and screening step is used to assess the client from head to toe. The screening will determine the client's joint range of motion and asymmetries in addition to any muscular imbalances and weaknesses the client may have. The information gathered in this assessment allows for the proper program to be designed.

Please Note: The Postural Analysis and Functional Movement screen is required for all new clients. It is complimentary with the purchase of any Pilates Session or Package.
